My 8TB hard drive that I shucked isn't showing up on my motherboard. I've tried another HDD with the same SATA / PSU cables and that one is recognized fine, would removing the 3.3v pin that some cover with kapton tape permanently damage the drive at all? I see others saying it isn't an issue but don't want to lose any data. I just don't want to buy a whole role of tape I'll only use a sliver of.
Tried the scotch tape and everything worked as expected. Was also able to locate a small piece of Kapton tape so things are as they should. Thanks for the response.
