how do you know if a backup is dead (even if you have multiple copies) in c/[email protected]

Versioning
My backups are incremental (Mac TimeMachine and Arq)
If I find a file is corrupted, I can restore an earlier version

My 8 year old HDD died in c/[email protected]

I use Arq Premium for cloud storage (1TB)
