Most places in the US are in addition to the bill, it's just that many people who don't carry cash, so you can add it to your debit/credit on a separate line, but leaving cash is always an option. Some places that deal with a lot of non-tippers have mandatory gratuity or make it mandatory for groups above a certain size. Either way, I think it's bullshit that the employees' wages are not accounted for in menu pricing, and I'm expected to figure it out.

Apparently, that's how it was with my great-uncle (close to my parents' age) in the eighties. He says my grandma was an asshole because she asked him if he just found out because everyone else had been known.

Ya'll tip over there? I thought the US was the only place with that assbackward practice.

I see many folks here mentioning Dave Chapelle as a right-wing comedian, which is a joke in itself. Dave Chapelles' personal politics and much of the politics mentioned in his stand-up are not right-wing. He has a blend of center right/center left beliefs and supports progressive candidates. I understand there is controversy with his LGBTQ+ material and commentary, but that does not make all of his politics right-wing. This strikes me as coming from people who have little exposure to the black American community, where these attitudes are prevalent regardless of the individuals' other politics. It is slowly improving, but it isn't great. Frankly, I don't know why it is he continues to antagonize and harp on this for hours at a time. It is very strange and I know he's capable of much funnier material.

That isn't a bad deal at all, especially considering the costs of a single showing.

I've wanted to go to an Alamo for sometime, residual because they will have releases not found elsewhere.

That's literally what it cost last time I went, lol. I thought to myself, why did I just pay $50 for this?

I don't think I've been to a theater in 6+ years. $20+ for a single ticket, $15 for $.30 of popcorn+mystery chems, and another $15 for $.20 worth of a drink all while they pay high school children $7/hr. So that's $50 for me to sit in a dirty chair surrounded by assholes on their phones and running their mouths? I don't think that's something I'd like to pay for.

Fair enough. Definitely a good point to make.

Agreed. Alll Israeli money is blood money. Also, why should the population that supports (80%) and celebrates genocide ever know another moments peace?

Am I missing it, or are they not saying what theatre's yet?
