If something costs 20 dollars to make and they sell it for 25 to price in the other costs and a slight profit margin and then it costs 30 to make when doing it sustainable they can't sell it for 20 + (10 / 2) +5 = 30. They would make a minus then. They could sell it for 35, with gaining the same profit as before.

Almost every piece of equipment that Russia is using in its war runs on oil. I can understand it, to hit that branch if military support as well. It's just that oil is also used for civilian stuff. On the other hand, russia attacked the electric infrastructure of Ukraine and that was heavily critiziced because of the effects on the citizens. So I get your point.

However, as soon as Russia leaves Ukraine, their oil depots will stop to blow up. Ukraine does not have that kind of choice
