Well, I'm not american. I don't know enough about the Hawaii situation, all I have to go on is some accusations here and there that the government failed in it's duty. That's not enough to make a real judgement of the situation, and I haven't looked into the matter more deeply.

What I'm more wary of is the growing chorus of people who seem to think that criticism of the US government only exists online because of signal boosting from nefarious Chinese-Russian troll farms. If you're a liberal you're supposed to pride yourself on the institutionalized self criticism that is supposed to exist in a liberal democracy. Now we have the democrats and the republicans both united in partisan hackery and a desire to ascribe negative speech to either Russiagate or Soros and The Jews®. This is not a good thing.

From what I understand the US government did fail terribly during the Katrina disaster, and then the local government made full use of the opportunity to segregate and ethnically cleanse some historical black neighborhoods. So it's not like this is an impossible idea that came out of the blue.

and also a common dogwhistle by alt right types. its the old maxim. if you're poor and socialist, that makes you jealous. if you're rich and socialist, that makes you a bleeding heart moonperson.

they are trying to dunk on us for our 0 tolerance policy for transphobia and our strong pro lgbt+ stance. which is bad enough for them because they are supposed to be in favor of such things. yet the liberals betray their own bad faith by tarnishing the community all at once. they can't just settle for mental gymnastics, they gotta go even beyond and accuse us of being fake gay people as well.

To be fair, the democrats were absolutely bloodthirsty when Obama was elected warlord and he waged war against the peoples of Syria and Libya. It's a bipartisan problem affecting both liberal parties.

I'm currently serving in the US military and am very confident that Western media at large is on the money

'thank you for your service', you say when someone describes their career pushing paper in the afghani legation quarter

Sure, we can joke about this but consider, that if I or anybody I know thought like that we simply wouldn't discuss politics at all. As that's something that liberals and fascists also do.

So you've watched enough american media to believe that political memes are something that Russians do, and that they totally destroyed american democracy with those memes? Well, I've seen more than my fair share of NAFO and americans online making memes about how non westerners should all be genocided. That won't keep me from making fun of a fascist like Ron DeSantis with a meme.
