Visual Basic is still alive in MANY company codebases across the world. It's not a great language for developers, but it's a perfectly acceptable first language and still used professionally.

A lot of these conferences have contracts with conference venues that kinda locks them in for hosting the conference at that location multiple years in a row.
Explore and be curious. Have you visited every planet? Have you been using the ship logs when you're not sure what to do next?
The game is 100% about exploring and learning about the world.
I mean, it's the main mechanic of the game, and happens in the first 22 minutes of the game. I would not describe that as a "major spoiler" but it is neat when it just happens suddenly.
TIL Lemmy hates dogs?
My office allowed dogs, and the dog was always super chill and never made a sound. Honestly it sounds dumb, but it's good when I see a dog. It makes me happy.
Obviously a poorly behaved dog would suck. I feel like it's implied that bringing a dog into work means that the dog has to be well behaved.
Real question... Why is this kind of thing posted to World News? It's a horrifying story, but it's also one incident in one location. Me knowing about it doesn't help me or anyone else in any way. I guess you could hope that it inspires some gun owners to better secure their firearms, but that's about it.
This kinda one-off incidents were all over Reddit. It just exists to stoke people's anger most of the time, but it's also super easy to push a specific agenda by posting these horrible, local stories.
Getting people riled up about abortion allowed them to get a large segment of voters to support their party. Anti-choice people are largely emotional, single-issue voters. Once you've convinced people that your opponents want to allow "baby killing", you can pretty much count on their votes without having to actually cater to their needs.
Important to note that many people don't believe that the way things are is "stable". It isn't just "change it to be better than just stable," it's "get most people to be stable instead of just the rich people who are stable already "
While it wasn't my experience either, it has been the experience of some men that I talk to, and if you ever look at how conservative men talk, you can see that the "traditional man" concept is still being pushed on them.
If does seem like it's getting better, but as you said, it definitely depends on your social and family circles.
The writer of this skit, Julio Torres, also did a bunch of other excellent ones:
He also helped create and stars in Los Espookies, which is really really good, though a bit weird. It's on HBO Max.
That's totally fair. I've only really played up to about level 4 or 5 of some adversaries. The "we're gonna win for sure in a few turns" happens less on higher difficulty, but it did still happen. The events deck helps by being another unpredictable element that can hurt your plans.
I mean, they are literally clickbait. They want you to wonder what the best part of Alan Wake is or what the best soullike of 2023 is. It's just an evolution of clickbait, but it's still very much clickbait.
