I may be remembering it wrong, but I think world was one of the few accepting people without a referral during the reddit migration. That's why I use .world. I also don't really understand federation besides it means I can see other instances, but I only barely know what that means. There were a lot of "what is the fediverse" posts when I first joined, and they were helpful, but maybe too simplified?

I also remember thinking .world and .ml were the defaults when I started.

I got molested by my dad's friend when I was fifteen, and my dad invited him to my sixteenth birthday a few months later. I had a temper tantrum and smashed my cake on the ground and cried all night, but to this day have never told anyone why I was so upset.

I just had a horrible thought after reading your last paragraph. The safety law regarding the back seat could be applied to fetuses via a law banning pregnant women from driving or sitting in the front seat, taking away even more autonomy.

I bought a milkshake on a beach boardwalk a couple weeks ago, as a treat, cuz I was at the beach, yknow, why not. The last time I had a milkshake was probably this time last year. They only offered one size, 20 oz. I would have preferred less, but whatever. My friend got a single scoop in a cup. About a third of the way into my shake, she was done w her scoop, and i did not want to eat anymore milkshake, but I also didn't want to be wasteful, so I ate the rest of it, but it was not good anymore. It was too much sugar, and then my tummy hurt haha. Her lil scoop was the perfect amount and cost less than my stupid thing.

Sorry, you didn't ask for this anecdote. It was all to say: I agree with you, sure they taste good, kinda, but only for a minute and then the suffering comes.

I once heard it described as a verb tense of "yoink" and that made me feel a lot better about it slipping into my regular usage.

I'm still cheugy af tho, according to my 26 year old roommate, so maybe don't take advice from me.

Take it easy, homeslice xx

You're thinking of Rhianna and Eminem, love the way you lie,.or something like that. It's hysterical to me that that's the song you're talking abt because the person who originally replied to you suggested Eminem and Dido. So. I think you just don't like Slim Shady.

My grandpa's life partner came into his life after my dad was an adult but before I was born, so she's been in the family longer than I have. She never wanted to be called anything other than her first name, but by all measures, she is my grandma, and I love her. So I've had the typical grandma/grandpa names for mine, but I also have an Izzy, and that's really special to me.

Oh, I thought we were talking about my ex husband

I crested the hill on my way to work, and perched on a powerline was the biggest Red Tailed Hawk I've ever seen in my life. The sun was rising on the other side of the road, dusting the snow covered mountains in pink and gold light, still half covered in shadow, just waking up. The road in front of me was straight and clear, there were no other cars. As I drove past this big guy I slowed down and was gonna stop to take a picture, but we locked eyes, he flung open his massive wings, dust swirling in the air around him, glinting in the new sunlight. He shook himself out like a wet dog and swooped in front of my window and into the pine grove across the street.
