BOINC is a finalist for an notable award, and needs votes (by Sunday):

Context: The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is a United Nations-sponsored initiative aimed at harnessing the potential of information and communication technologies to build inclusive and equitable information societies worldwide. BOINC has been nominated for a prize at the 2024 forum, and has passed initial hurdles; the next and last step ("Phase 3") requires public votes. The award would be a very nice boost and validation for BOINC and all projects; if we can get our communities to vote, we should have a decent shot at this point...

Voting is pretty simple, takes just a few minutes; instructions are here

(*The deadline for votes is Sunday: 31 March 2024, 23:00 UTC+02:00)

from https://www.sidock.si/sidock/forum_thread.php?id=263 We've successfully achieved 21 milestones in our ongoing drug discovery initiative, and this strong, open, and community-supported drug discovery project is going on. Our research has been routine lately: virtual screening on the same library for a pleiade of corona-related targets. These efforts are however crucial to our research progression. Currently, we're in the process of drafting publications for two of our completed objectives (3CLpro and PLpro) and are setting the stage for upcoming drug targets (here we are also planning a pool where You the participants, will help us decide on the upcoming target work). Last but not least, we thank everyone who has donated cryptocurrency or money. The donations sum up to 639 Euro and 12,140 Gridcoin now. We plan to use them for purchase of compounds and in-vitro screening. As always, we are grateful to all of you for your computational contributions and discussions!

We look forward to the future work on SiDock@home.

Merry Christmas to all and all the best to All!

With best wishes, Natalia, Marko, Črtomir and hoarfrost

Stories like this are why I donate my CPU/GPU time to SiDock/Rosetta/Folding@home. We all can make a difference, even if our contributions are small.

The BOINC Census is a project of the Science Commons Initiative, a 501(c)(3) non-profit rebuilding the bridge of trust and participation between the public and science.

Happy crunching! πŸš€

WCG has one and at least one or two other projects.

There are certainly some BOINC projects that could work with it, many BOINC projects support android as well which is similar in terms of specs. [email protected]

Been BOINCing for over a decade, and been earning Gridcoin for it the past few years as well. A great way to get something good out of my equipment and heat my house in winter! There's still tons of great projects to contribute to. Come join us [email protected]

The newsletter only comes out every other month or so, and it only comes out when we have news to report so as to not bog down your inbox. We intend to publish our yearly accounting report each year at tax time showing how much money went to our various projects. The automated board would be great but would take development time away from our other priorities, and gets complex especially as we have multiple streams for donations (paypal, crypto, etc). I'd love to know about the dead links though we'll get those fixed asap. Thanks for your support!

Not at this point in time, but best place to keep up to date on our work is probably our newsletter https://thesciencecommons.substack.com/ You can also always sit in on our board meetings if you want to catch some more day-to-day (find them in our Discord). Got some BIG BOINC bounties completed recently around the Linux packaging issues. Thank you for your support :).

I crunch for nearly all of them. My favourite all-time is World Community Grid, but also loving SiDock right now for their open source covid drug development.
