Physical paperbacks. I can never seem to get as engrossed in audiobooks or e-books as I do with physical copies, so i read physical ones ever when traveling.

I've heard that one of the big features of Lemmy is that users from one instance can interact and follow users from different instances. But I can't figure out how exactly that works. I made a community earlier (on mander.xyz) and when I tried searching for it from a different instance (lemmy.world) it wouldn't show up. However, a comment I made on another post made by lemmy.world user on lemmy.ml did show up. How does this work?
