Imagine a world where Gore won in 2000. It’s depressing to think about how different things could have gone.

I wish that worked on my 3 year old. He'd be like "yep!" then go outside barefoot.
I'd change in a heart beat. My sensory issues and struggles with executive function, social cluelessness, attention problems and so much more are not "super powers". It sucks and I'd love to not have to figure out the rules by breaking them and then getting in trouble.
Going through life walking on eggshells is no way to live. I am trying to surround myself with people who are more understanding and I'm doing my best to be attentive when I have the spoons. But like.. not understanding why people behave a certain way and simply not even knowing you're supposed to react a certain way in certain social settings is exhausting.
Thanks! I love hearing new music.
This is why I have a hard time respecting religion. People take irrational stances based on what they're taught as kids to never question.
The right to practice a religion ends when it smacks me in the face with its zealotry and steals bodily autonomy.
Single issue voting for a party that wants to deport your kind or put them in cages is so ridiculously short sighted, it's hard for me to even pretend to see their perspective.
It's amazing to me that a sizeable number of Cuban immigrants and their descendants vote for these right wing "anti-immigration" candidates.
There's going to be a whole lot of leopard face eating going on.
We're so thoroughly screwed, that it's the best I can do to get through the day without having a massive panic attack about it.
I try not to talk about it in real life because everyone is so in denial or like me, can't deal with the fact that we're still pretending "this is fine" while the house is on fire.
It was created to protect individual artists commercial rights. But at this point, it's rent-seeking. Corporations who own copyrighted works long after the death of an artist/writer/musician and the sale of the asset by the heirs benefits nobody but the mega-corps who have the power to brutally enforce them.
Society does not benefit by this.
Surely there has to be a better way to encourage and reward creative people. In truth, how many truly prosper by their works? A handful. It's much more common to create something in service of a corporation, who then immediately owns the rights to it.
Any entity that cannot be executed or imprisoned does not have to navigate the same fears and dangers of citizen beings.
Corps as persons is one of the most monstrous ideas ever. Yes, legally it made some things easier, but we see the outcome.
The whole idea and rules regarding incorporation needs to be revamped from the ground up.
This would be something amazing, except for capitalism.
Industrialization produces enough to provide for basic needs. But hoarding immense wealth means the masses suffer so the few can live high on the hog.
One fact not taken into account: if society doesn’t change, laying off 30% of the workforce is a recipe for pitchforks and torches.
