My wants:

  • ROM-friendly w/ active development
  • flagship specs
  • No hole-punch

Seems I can get two of three, but not all three with the latest phones.

EDIT: I currently rock a Oneplus 7 Pro running crDroid 9 (Android 13).

Interesting. Thanks for counting the pixels.

Just eye-balling, it doesn't seem 10x larger in diameter.

But yeah, this isn't 'beautiful' data when the initial look is a 2D circle and not a 3D sphere.

Proportions seem off. The Bill Gates sphere is not ~1000x smaller than the All Money sphere. Not even close.

I just assume everything. Any way you think they can monetize what they can see of yours, they do. And more that you can't think of.

Ah that makes sense. I plan to run this thing 24/7

Just an iteration. They'll be there in no time.

For the Wireguard app, when you go to select OpenVPN it says (deprecated).

In order to use PIA in the Wireguard app, don't I have to select

OpenVPN (deprecated)

in the dropdown for VPN? I'm trying to avoid something that will be removed in the near future. Or am I reading that wrong?

I only really need it for the qbitorrent/transmission and prowlarr/jackett (haven't decided yet) apps in TrueNAS

Is there something else you're talking about?

In the settings to install wireguard, the dropdown in it says

OpenVPN (deprecated)

so I'm trying to avoid something that will be removed in the near future.

16? You only mention 1.

Honestly I love their hardware design. I think it's the best out.

But I love custom ROMs more.

If they simply opened up their devices I wouldn't care about how many official OS updates they offer, because I would be using a ROM that would keep constantly updating.

Although currently there's very little interest in ROM development for Sony phones. Kinda like the chicken or the egg.

Really just want flagship hardware with custom ROMs.

My OnePlus 7 Pro is still going strong, for now.
