I'm honestly really surprised at how decently it can run on my fairly crappy laptop 😅

https://my.vatsim.net/events/2-years-on-trip-to-wolf-s-fang-runway Can recommend this one next time. Although you should definitely look into programming a custom waypoint before you try to land. Spotting the runway is hard in the middle of nowhere.

Last months server costs was the first month payed for using donations: Thank you for that ! There is not enough balance for the next month(s) yet.

If you are using this server to browse the Fediverse, could you please help out ?

Just a euro or two per month, times many of you, would be more then enough !

The donations are help by the legal fiscal host Open Collective Europe - all reimbursements are fully transparent posted on the platform and payed out from there.

Thank you again for your consideration 🙏

Has anyone been able to test this yet? What was your experience like?

I was able to test it on my 7900XT, but I'm not sure if it was working right. It was definitely enabled as the frame counter in Adrenalin showed double FPS. But that was only until I moved the camera and the FPS would return to non-framegen baseline until I stopped moving it again which kind of defeats the purpose.

As you might understand, running the server costs real money. At the moment this comes down to +- 11,- EUR per month.

I would appreciate it if those who use this server to browse the fediverse would help out in sharing these costs. If every member would help out with a tiny amount, it would already be enough.

I've created an account on opencollective. Money donated will stay on their bank account, I will upload invoices expenses of the hosting provider, domain registrar to the platform so it is fully transparent on where the money is spent.

Thanks a lot for helping out !

I recently got the Q4XP and discovered Widerøe flies nice domestic routes in Norway. Perfect for a short 50min flight for example. I found widerøevirtual.online - a phpVms based VA. I liked what it offers: an overview of real life flights which you can choose to fly, helps you in creating a simbrief OFP. It seems a bit quiet here though, small group of members (which is nice I think) and you’ll have to wait on manual pirep approval. The VA seems new-ish, lets hope it grows a bit and becomes somewhat more active.

I’m also a member of klm-va.nl which is much more free: you can choose to fly real life scheduled flights (get more points for that) but you can just fly any dep-arr you like in whatever plane - and still get points for it.

I’ve also tried several VA’s based on the vamSys software - the most modern and solid build va-system I think. They’ve got some very active communities, which is also a very nice part of flying with a VA.

I’m wondering what others experiences are with flying on the sim with a virtual airline?

I feel like I've come a long way, but still feel like I have a long way to go before I feel truly good.

Fenix A320 has announced version V2 of their A320. The V2 update is divided into two blocks. Block 1 has released today and includes mostly under the hood improvements to systems, displays, aircraft behaviour and some small improments in the EFB. Block 1 is promised to bring major FPS improvements.

Block 2 is scheduled to launch in September. This will include the IAE variant, updated model and improvements to the current CFM model.

Fenix simulations, known for their A320 for MSFS, announced a major update to their A320 product, called V2. The update is broken into two pieces: block 1 and block 2.

Block 1 mostly contains "under the hood" optimalizations. Block 2 contains a major update to the model aswell as the addition of the IAE engine variant. Until now, Fenix only has the A320 with the CFM engines.

The V2 update promises great progress on frames. See the image.

Simultaneously, they announced the addition of the A319 and A321 variants by the end of the year.

Block 1 of V2 should be released next week. Block 2 is planned for the end of September.

Stumbling a bit on how to get some animations to work correctly, (gauges and gear doors where the local axis doesn't line up with the global axis). But making some good progress on getting the details modelled in.

Not much detail below besides a reddit link, sorry, but it looks like the STECS is real and coming soon!

Hi guys, VKB HQ shares more details on the modular concept of the STECS Throttle system. Check it out on Reddit here. https://cdn.imgchest.com/files/345xczkzv27.webp Expected availability for US and Canada: August 2023. Exciting times! Until next time, VKB North America
