Stephen surveyed thousands of people in London and over 90 percent of them had wanted to play the piano at one point. It makes sense to learn an instrument no matter how old you are.

With daily practice and proper instruction at any age, increased proficiency can occur. The joy that this can bring to an individual, family and the world is beautiful. The world needs more artists, more beauty and more music in these times.

Original Title: LPT: When setting up autopay for bills, schedule them a few days before they’re due. This gives you a buffer in case something goes wrong with the payment (like insufficient funds or technical errors), saving you from late fees and potential damage to your credit score.

Happened to me twice before switching dates. Also ease of mind

Example: Reporting a 10% cost reduction each quarter can be sold better than a bigger one time reduction.

Give yourself space to report on successes in a longer term view. Especially in corporations, consistent longer term improvements are key metrics, even if smaller in size.

Often, our initial reaction may be emotional or rushed, leading to misunderstandings or escalation. Take 10 minutes to calmly process the message and formulate a more thoughtful response. This gives you time to reassess the tone, clarify the sender’s intent, or decide whether the issue even requires a reply. You'll avoid unnecessary back-and-forth and communicate more effectively.

If you're painting while on a stepladder, and using the top step for the paint tin, tie a couple of cords of twine through the paint tin handle and the top bar of the ladder, it'll stop your paint spattering all over the floor if the tin gets accidentally knocked.

If you lose something, replace it with a cheaper option. You’ll often find it works just as well. But if something breaks, use it as a chance to upgrade to something better and more durable, so it lasts longer.

For example, I am not able to fully read this article from Bloomberg

When I search for the article title with the keyword MSN or Yahoo, I can find the full article on both MSN and Yahoo

As the title says, if you keep your phone box the police can use the IMEI to track it and get it back even if the theif changes the SIM card or wipes it, my mum's phone once got stolen and this is exactly how she got it back, I think it only took like a week.

I say this because I see a lot of people asking why some people keep their phone boxes, this is one reason

Smell is deeply tied to memory, probably more than any other sense. If you buy a new deodorant, cologne, or perfume to use on vacation, you’ll be reminded of those memories every time you use it again in the future.

Looking at it from the recipient’s POV is often better to find mistakes, missing files, subject, sign-off, etc. Especially important if you have multiple files, images, or text features.

I've seen nook glowlights for as little as $10. As for where to obtain epubs or pdfs I recommend:

Once you get your epubs, pdfs, comics, etc adding them to your device can be a pain especially for Kindle users. I recommend Calibre for managing your ebooks and transferring them to your e-reader.

It’s often hard to remember which clothes go well together, and we end up wearing the same things most of the time. So, when you put together a good outfit, take a photo and create an album. Later, when you’re unsure of what to wear, you can simply choose an outfit from that album.

For example, you can vote for the US president, judges, etc but leave a proposition of horseracing tax blank. This is called ‘undervoting’.

I do believe you just have to submit the whole ballot regardless so they know you undervoted and aren’t just missing pages. Call the hotline on your ballot to confirm this information for your specific ballot.

If you find yourself running out of time to vote in the upcoming weeks, just know you don’t have to fill everything out for your vote to be valid! I do encourage you to try to inform yourselves and vote on everything if possible.

Basically, lots of people agree Google got worse after introducing AI. Add "&udm=14" in the URL of your search on Google.

"The results are fascinating. It’s essentially Google, minus the crap. No parsing of the information in the results. No surfacing metadata like address or link info. No knowledge panels, but also, no ads. It looks like the Google we learned to love in the early 2000s, buried under the "More" menu like lots of other old things Google once did more to emphasize, like Google Books."

You can find browser add-ons or websites that help you do this automatically, so you can find legitimate resources instead of imprecise AI-related information. Journalists, financial analysts, and researchers rejoice!

I've had a rice cooker for years because it's the easiest and best way to make proper rice. I never bothered with the plastic steaming tray until I was searching for a better way to boil eggs. Turns out a rice cooker equipped with a steaming tray is the easiest way to make perfect boiled eggs. I put about an inch of water in the pot and the tray holds a dozen eggs just right. Twenty minutes from the start will result in jammy, mostly-cooked yolks and 24 minutes to hard boiled but not overcooked (of course different cookers give different results, but this is a good starting point).

When it comes to easy shell removal older eggs are better. I'll find a dozen in the store with the closest expiration date and give them some time in the fridge before cooking, the shells come right off under a little running water. There's a bit calcium residue in the pot but that washes right out for easy cleanup.

It's worth a try if you boil a lot of eggs.

EDIT: I almost forgot, when the eggs are done just take each one out with tongs and shock them in a bowl of ice water. That stops the cooking and makes them easier to peel later,

Often the person on the phone can see if you have agreed to a survey, and the service is sometimes better. I have also noticed shorter wait times when I say “yes”. Could be placebo effect but I have experimented and it really does seem to be better service. You are not obligated to actually take the survey (I do only if the service was really awesome and I want to give that person some cred) and can still just hang up at the end of the call.

YT Shorts require recent history to show you relevant shorts. If you switch off your History then the shorts show a message asking you to update the history setting. No more wasting time on those.

You’re living together or married and things will last forever, right?

Maybe not. When I left my husband, our utilities were all in his name. I had to make large security deposits to all of them in my new home.

After a very scary few days with my dad taking severely ill, we tried to access his phone.

Realising we didn't know the number just added to the panic and worry knowing we cant contact his friends.

My dad being the planner thst he is had it written down in a little black book safe in his drawer along with other vital info. It's 4 numbers but really it's somebody's world.

Not infrequently, when you submit a form, the page simply redisplays with an error message, and everything that you wrote is wiped out. (Web sites have gotten better about this, but it still happens at least once a month). This can be infuriating if your submission included a long comment, complaint or review which you now have to recompose and retype. I've learned to copy those long texts before submitting the form, and save them in some local temporary app so that when it happens, I can just paste the paragraphs back into the box.

If you are single, be sure someone has power of attorney/power of medical attorney. A family member just had their house foreclosed on and sold because no one had power of attorney to protect her assets. She developed dementia and hadn’t paid her mortgage for months. She is now homeless.
