Pretty much only played Greedfall last week. Game is going good, not much to add about it.

One thing that I didn't mention before, and that shows it's "AA" or low budget is that interior of the buildings is same. For instance, the governer's building is same from inside for all factions. Exactly the same. Same goes for our house in all the cities. Not a big deal tbh, but something I noticed. Doesn't effect the gameplay, or the narrative, which is fun.

Playing a bit of Earthlock but going to focus on it this week, in hope of finishing it this week. Will only get Zelda after I have finished this. Otherwise I won't play it for couple of months and then won't want to get back to it.

Didn't play Trails in the Sky: Second Chapter this week. It has been demoted to a side game when I have nothing else to play, as I want to finish both Greedfall and Earthlock first. Once they are finished will switch it to primary game, cause I want to give it proper focus it deserves. Well, maybe after Legend of Zelda.

What about all of you? What have you been playing?

I bought nintendo online so that I could try out the online mode mode in super smash bros, and it's really discouraging. I thought I was alright at it because I've basically completed the game and done the hardest challenges, but on online I'm riduclously outclassed. I think I played like 30 games last night and won only 2. I know it has a ranking system to match you up with similar players - I don't know if it starts you out pretty high at first or something, because I feel like I'm a level 1 CPU right now.

Well, I have only played a few matches online, it lags for me for some reason, so can't say too much about it. But in general, when playing any game online, it's a completely different experience from playing with AI. Have experienced that in every multiplayer game.

Under Night In-Birth II [Sys:Celes] - wheeeee

Skullgirls - hehe

Splatoon 3 - I may have hurt some people today

Mahjong Soul/Riichi City/IRL mahjong - Very close to hitting 7th Dan on RC, and at the same time I'm closer to dropping to Expert 2 on MJS than I am to earning my Master 1 back. Honestly I think this is just a consequence of RC's rating system being kinda jank.

Been working on a secret project, so I haven't had much time to play anything but my usual rotation.

Heh, nice. Good luck with your MJS rating!

I may have made a huge mistake.

I started playing Civ 5. I bought it a long time ago when the whole package was 90% off and finally decided to play it. And that's all I did. I knew this wasn't going to be a casual experience. I played Civ 3 when it was the most recent game in the series my old Laptop was able to play and the SNES version of Civ 1 a couple of years later (because apparently, I only play the odd-numbered ones). I knew the risks.

But I also have a bunch of vacation days to use up, so I took a week off from work to just let this happen. Get it out of my system and hopefully move on from there. Don't bother holding my beer, it'll be stale by the time I come back out of this rabbit hole.

Haha, you took a big risk. I have stayed away from Civilization games for a while because of this, once you start them, things can get out of control.

I have been getting slight itch for them again though, specially with the trailers for 7. Though I am keeping myself in check for now, but plan to give 7 a try when it launches.

I recently got Islanders (on sale) and It's really relaxing & easy to pickup for breath bursts.

Is there a campaign or it's just a sandbox where you just do whatever you want?

I recently discovered the Gigastructural Engineering mod to Stellaris, guess I also need to get The Machine Age DLC at some point.....

Needless to say I'll be messing around in Stellaris for the foreseeable future.

Nice! Have heard great things about it but never tried it cause my laptop couldn't run it. It's on my wishlist for "some day"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I highly suggest it! Game's good and there is a lot of sci-fi nerdness overall, plus it's always fun to roleplay as a ~~xenophobic exterminator~~ friendly neighbor!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Heh, cool. Will check it out.

Oooh, how is it? I still have the first one on my backlog.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I just played one hour yet, but will spend more hours on it today. Can probably do a review in a week. :)

Cool, would look for you in our next thread 😀

I hope to get back to Morrowind. I thought about Final Fantasy II. Balatro is also a good time. I'd like to see if Gran Turismo 4 runs on my tablet. I saw an article about a sick looking mod for it

Don't know about FF2, but others are all great grames, enjoy!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I liked the first FF, so I should enjoy it. So far depression is winning. It's probably been close to a week since I've played anything. Been watching some movies and shit though

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Can't say much about depression, but it's okay to take breaks from gaming, whenever you need it. Hope you feel better soon.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Thank you. I didn't really burn out on gaming. I think motel life is starting to get to me. I'm still in a better place mentally than I was prior to this situation. Doesn't help I found out the hard way artificial sweeteners can make you sick as fuck

Still waiting on Echoes of Wisdom foru switch. But I've been diving into Falloit New Vegas in th mean time. I love Fallout games

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, Fallout games are great. Which one is your favourite? And have you played 76?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I never played 76 or the two originals from interplay. Between 3 NV and 4, it's always hard to top your first. And playing F3 was my first and an experience. I hadn't played the elder scrolls before this and was just amazed with freedom that these open world RPGs gave you. Yeah so gonna have to go with F3 for the sole reason of nostalgia.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Interesting. Generally NV is considered better than 3, but I wonder if that's by the people who have played the first 2 Fallout games, and like it more cause it's closer to that in some aspects.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I'm just one of the oddballs. I never played NV until this year and I've really enjoyed it and I know objectively it's a better game. The reason I choose 3 or NV is simply because I have good memories when I was younger playing a gaming genre id never experienced prior.

Mostly alternating between Echoes of Wisdom and Extermination Day via GZDoom on my Switch. I've played Extermination Day through Brutal Doom before, but this is a regular Doom enemies and weapons playthrough. For you non-criminal scum who are looking forward to Echoes of Wisdom, you'll be happy to hear that it's good. It surprised me, because at first I wasn't very interested when I read that Zelda would summon enemies to fight rather than attack directly, but it's actually quite fun to choose from a variety of things to tackle a given situation.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Interesting, looking forward to playing Echoes of Wisdom.

I've read a lot of complaints about performance, but I'm not very sensitive to such things and haven't had a problem with it. It seems about the same as the Link's Awakening remake.

Finished Hatsumira: From the Future Undying!

A solid, well-produced and fun VN.

The highlight is definitely the side cast - there's a lot of fun characters, including a few I would argue are more interesting and/or better developed than some of the main heroines. The lead character is great too, he adds a lot of personality to the game.

But there's two big problems with the game: First is the localization, which goes way too far trying to make the dialogue more "colorful", adding so many accents that even reading the dialogue gets difficult sometimes. The second one is extreme imbalance in screentime between the heroines - if you're playing this game because you got interested in one of the late-joining heroines like Meltyna or Rhea you're going to be seriously disappointed.

Playing Ace Attorney Investigations 2: Prosecutor's Gambit (part of Ace Attorney Investigations Collection)!

Finished the third case and it's easy to see why this game is so well-regarded - the quality of the cases so far has been excellent. Turnabout Legacy (Case 3) felt as gripping as some final cases in other games due to its connections with Edgeworth's father and Von Karma.

The one thing I really dislike so far are the main "antagonists" - Judge Gavelle and her "helper" Eustace Winner. I'm guessing this will be explained in one of the latter cases, but it bothers me how the game keeps portraying Gavelle as an intelligent and capable person, yet has her supporting Eustace's stupidity and constantly antagonizing Edgeworth even when he's right.

A friend of mine just finished Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, and have recommended me to finish my Ace Attorney games quick. 😀

Your friend has good tastes. 😄
