This shit is making me a ludite, there should be 0 screens around the driver, analog lights, dials, and controls only

theyre getting rid of the analog knobs and shit in favor of touchscreens
its so awful i can barely even hit the right buttons on my phone with my attention 200% directed at it
I know right, its rediculous. They have all these things with phones and distracted driving but if the screen is bigger and built into the fucking car its actually fine? Have you thought about this for 1 (one) second? And you need it for some key functions like AC (de-fogs the glass when it rains) and heat? And it connects to your phone??? Literally drives me mad, I can't believe anyone thought that was a good or safe idea.
I say we just make it illegal to look at or touch any touchscreen in a car, whether it be a phone, tablet, car screen, or anything else.
If people can't drive their cars anymore, then good riddance. It's a safety hazard to the survival of the human species anyway.
Everyone should be a luddite. They were right and severely misrepresented 😤
I mean.... I understand the controls things but come on, a navigation system is a nice thing and that clearly needs some kind of screen.
You don't need it, and I refuse to believe it's safe.
Some people's brains don't come with built in automaps, but I'm just built different.
Its called looking for a map before you go and writing down directions as needed
And if you don't have a map you can always go on an abandoned desert road and ask the wild eyed gas station attendant for directions, then you turn around and the gas station is gone because it was a scary ghost
Not saying that it doesn't work... But there are some shitty roads with shitty designs, shitty exits, bad signage, etc...
Plus some apps provide usefull realtime updates like if an accident is blocking a road, if there is heavy traffic, etc...
He wasn't losing enough users as is so now he's just killing them off?

About to be some real cheap Tesla drive units and battery packs making their way to the secondary market.
but, sir Musk, sir, would that not be considered "bloat", sir?
Yeah man because what X needs is for people to tweet from their cars more. That will definitely improve the quality of content on the rapidly declining site.
It's like they have no idea what the correct starting point is for making mass-market social media successful. They don't put content quality as their starting point because they have no idea what good quality content is. Their entire shtick has been to change the content that gets visibility by reducing user signals and creating pay to win signals instead, ignoring the fact that user signals are the strongest determinator of quality for most content types, or at the very least the strongest signal for engaging-content.
Your car will now swerve in any direction if ordered to do so in a tweet by a premium user.
Tech nerds love fixing something that isn’t broken just to end up making it demonstrably worse
