News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

:::spoiler Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

Was somehow logged out of my account, and can’t log back in because says password or username is wrong, changed it- still says it’s wrong. So I’m locked out of my own account.

Guess that’s it then as I have no patience for their shit to even bother contacting them about this.

I got locked out of an account I had for 10+ years due to a similar mishap. It sucked, but it also coincided with the last exodus. I've been happier to just disengage for the most part. Fuck reddit

Same here. I lost my ~12 year old account. Been on Lemmy since. I find myself doomscrolling less which is nice.

Yeah same story with my first four accounts I ever had. It was heartbreaking to me back then but now I'm numb to all the heartbreak that Reddit admin has put me through over the years.. Welcome to Lemmy. It's more dignified & you get treated like a human here.

I did that to myself, but congrats nonetheless.

You won't miss it.

Oh well, just means more time to spend with us!

If you expect something similar to happen in Lemmy, it would be a good idea to export your Subscriptions in advance so you will be able to get back in with another account and possibly on another server.

Yeah, people may not believe it, but the company of the CEO who edited comments he disagreed with does do shit like this. They usually do it to accounts that didn't register with an email or used a temporary one, because they know they can troll them and get away with it. There was a point where they kept up appearances, but just like other social networks, even those close by, they discovered they really didn't have to. People will still flock, no one gives a shit or they end up forgetting when these violations occur, there's no real way to denounce them or hold them accountable.

This just happened to me so I came here to see if it had happened to anyone else. Should have known it wasn't a problem on my end.

Can't you just "forgot password"?

Also, I highly recommend keepass for all your paswrod needs

[–] [email protected] 5 points 11 months ago

I did that. Changed passwords and still says it’s wrong.

I always read that as "KeepAss"
