MODERATORS
You'll know whenever a cop is disciplined. It'll be major news and their "union" will be screaming about it. Generally it doesn't happen unless the cop manages to hurt someone powerful. Internal discipline in the vast majority of US police department is reserved for those who harm the department by doing things like reporting crimes committed by officers.

At the very least felony assault. No way that doesn't cause laceration, concussion or even skull fracture.
