I'd still rather have the less-harmful fascists than the more-harmful fascists.

Ok, fine. Then in that case, why are you arguing so hard with me? You know my fight is not with you.

What state do you live in?

I did. You chose not to read it.

Oh you didn’t read it?

Well, for one thing, my Mexican, gay and trans friends don’t have to be worried that they’ll be rounded up and deported or worse.

Of course it’s not ideal. But we have to play the hand we’re dealt. And we were dealt a two party system.

And until you’re ready to go up against tanks and fighter jets and bunker busters and knife missiles, I don’t see how you guys can just sit there and complain. Start your revolution already, if you think you can win.

Or just fucking vote, you goddamned babies!

Better than outright fascists.

The Democrats aren’t fascists, you nimrod.

Your logic is: defeat fascism by letting the fascists win?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (22 children)

Wrong. We have leverage in the local party board voting. We have leverage in the local municipal elections. We have leverage in state legislature and governor elections. We have leverage in the primaries.

Once the primaries are over, we have no leverage and we should do all we can to prevent the fascists from winning at all costs.

She bought the tickets without knowing about the strike. We accepted the gift without knowing about the strike.

She's a Republican and still wants to go and cross the picket line. She doesn't care.

My wife understands my hesitancy, but says that it's too late, and so we have to go regardless.

The kids are really looking forward to it.

I just feel so horrible. But I have to go with them.

What can I do to make amends?
