Doesn't help that it looks like he hasn't been active in the codebase for a while either. Well, publicly at least

Lol, did you watch the updated video? The only thing he got wrong really was that you don't necessarily need to fill the dispenser, depending on how hard your water is. The rest of the advice remains the same.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

Yep, the video (or possibly the follow up video? don't remember) goes into this. I'm in a very hard water area, so we fill it, but you're right, it should depend on hardness.

Which incidentally, is another reason tablets suck.

Posting this as a top level comment as well for visibility.

The tablets are a scam.

Ridiculously detailed video about them here.

The TL;DW is: use powder over tablets, and fill both the main detergent section AND the prewash section (or just throw a little extra powder in loose)

Also, run the hot water before turning it on

this new The Sims game promises to stay true to what The Sims has always been

The Sims 5 will be a free-to-play game.

Uuuuuuh huh. I wouldn't touch anything EA with a 10 foot pole at this point.

I'll wait for Paralives thanks.

Can someone eli5 the "without prejudice" thing to me? What do they think these magic words mean?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 months ago

It's fucking great!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

House flipper, The Sims, Planet Zoo/Planet coaster, Two Point Hospital/Campus, or anything in the creative management genre. Stardew Valley is good, and in the same vein, Graveyard Keeper.

If you have a Switch, Animal Crossing

If she likes Factorio, try Terra Nil maybe?

Also, there's always minecraft in peaceful mode?

Exactly this. It's a terrible, outdated story that essentially sells "staying together for the kids." The whole way through we were both like "ye these two need to get divorced." The book is a villain.

Eta: game play was fun though

Golden Sun for GBA... except it was taken so I added an I... it's occasionally taken so sometimes I switch it for a 1 but I hate doing that

Seems dumb, but having your feed interspersed with random happy cows just makes all the terrible headlines less terrible.

Hey fellow climate-conscious folks,

I hope this post finds you all in good health and high spirits despite the challenging times we face. Today, I am announcing the a new community/magazine that aims to be a safe haven for individuals dealing with climate anxiety

@ClimateAnxietySupport

https://kbin.social/m/ClimateAnxietySupport

The aim is to be a community created with love and empathy for those of us who find ourselves grappling with climate anxiety. It's a place where we can come together, share our feelings, thoughts, and fears, and support one another. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by the urgency of the climate crisis or experiencing eco-grief over the state of our planet, this community is here for you.

This is a supportive space where you can

  • Share your personal experiences with climate anxiety and how it affects your daily life.
  • Seek and provide advice on coping strategies, mindfulness techniques, and ways to take positive action.
  • Exchange resources like videos, or books that have helped you navigate through climate anxiety.
  • Engage in constructive discussions about climate-related topics while maintaining a focus on mental well-being.
  • Lean on each other for support, encouragement, and solidarity.

So, if you or someone you know is struggling with climate anxiety, come join us at @ClimateAnxietySupport

Cheers

I was gonna post it here, but I believe that's against the rules.

Sooo, where would be more appropriate?

Climate change is killing off coral reefs and destroying fish habitats, plastic pollution poisons, chokes and further kills off sea life, and then huge trawlers come in to scoop up whatever's left.

It's a three pronged attack on the ocean, and once it dies, we won't be far behind. Not just because of food, but because something like half of our breathable air comes from the ocean. It's also a huge carbon sink. Once it goes, climate change accelerates, and we choke and starve.

No fucking wonder the orcas are pissed.

Not sure this is the right place for this, but it was a legit shower thought, and I had to get it out of my system.

Is there a magazine/community for existential anxiety support or something? Preferably not one full of weird denialism?

Update: There wasn't, but now there is. @ClimateAnxietySupport

Home affairs minister says that despite Trump Jr’s promoter’s claims, the US businessman was not ‘cancelled’ and had been granted a visa

“Geez, Donald Trump Jr is a bit of a sore loser. His dad lost an election fair and square – but he says it was stolen. Now he’s trying to blame the Australian government for his poor ticket sales and cancelled tour,” the Labor minister wrote.

“Donald Trump Jr has been given a visa to come to Australia. He didn’t get cancelled. He’s just a big baby, who isn’t very popular.”

One of my favorite pass times is throwing on a chill playlist and flying around in Just Cause 3.

The game rewards flow state. If you're thinking about what you're doing, you're going to crash into something for sure. The result is I find it incredibly meditative and cathartic.

I do occasionally switch to 4 just for a change of scenery, and driving in GTA can be a similar experience as well.

Are there any other games I should be checking out for this sort of gameplay?

Also, I only mention PS5 because that's what I'm playing on, but I'm not fussy about it being a ps4 game or something
