If you're talking an Android tablet/headunit, separate from Android Auto, that makes sense... But Android Auto is essentially a simplified interface for specific apps installed on your phone, and is generally quicker and safer than using the phone interface. No one here is arguing for a separate android console interface, so I'm not sure we're talking about the same things. The whole point of Android Auto is to take a separate interface and OS out of the equation and to allow you to use your phone as the brain.

What apps were you hoping for it to support?

I am not sure how it could be much more intuitive, at least from a touch screen perspective. It's just a touch interface with an app drawer, nothing much more to it than that. However, if it wasn't a touch screen I could believe it not being very nice to use, as I have a friend that has an Audi that does CarPlay but the screen isn't touch, so he had to use physical buttons to use the interface. THAT is definitely not good.

As for the apps, I use Signal, WhatsApp, Messages, Spotify, YT Music, Waze, and Google Maps and they all support AA, so at least for my purposes it does what I need from a car apps interface standpoint.

The main argument I have against just phone + bluetooth is that you have to unlock your screen, keep it on, and it's a smaller size. I have wireless android auto set up, along with a magsafe case+charger, so my routine is to get in the car, slap the phone on the charger, and everything just comes up on my head unit display. For me it is way more convenient than having to deal with my phone display, and the larger screen is also better for navigation.

I have yet to hear any real negative points against AA or CarPlay for that matter, mostly it comes down to preferences like yours rather than actual interface issues.

I am curious why you think that? My reasons for liking it are the fact that it essentially just works, and gives me a consistent UI across multiple vehicles. What are your issues with it?

Not a film, but wholeheartedly and agree.

Deep fried cicadas seasoned with Old Bay. Co-worker gathered a bunch a few years ago when they were around and fried them up. They were fine, and if you had not told me they were an insect I wouldn't even have known. Nothing I wanted to eat again afterwards though.

Why must you turn my office into a HOUSE OF LIES?

Wow, I had no idea this was removed from circulation... It's one of the all-time great episodes! I understand the problems with Michael Jackson, but I don't think this episode should be deleted from existence.

Hey, you're right! I guess if I had said I did you'd have a point.

I highly recommend Cash App Taxes if you can believe it. I was skeptical but it was totally free both state and federal, whereas everywhere else appears to charge for state. Did mine last year and it was awesome, I previously was using TaxAct until they started increasing prices year after year and also kept getting worse at upselling for the state filing.

I just watched this review the other day and it reminded me that this game existed. I played it back in the day I've been playing it with an improvement hack that cleans up a lot of it, and I've been loving it. I highly recommend it to people who like dungeon crawlers and turn based RPGs.

She gets social security, and we don't have a lot of money ourselves and are no longer able to be with her 24/7. We are in Maryland, and are scared of what we can do. Will her medicare do anything? Is it too late for something like long term care insurance? We have no idea where to start.

Thanks for any insight.

Hi all, I am not extremely well versed in the Apple ecosystem, but recently I was able to acquire a 2018 MacBook Pro from my company's surplus and wanted to play around with it. However, when I go to do a recovery on it, it forces me to connect to the company's device management and installs a bunch of junk I don't want. I spoke to our IT, and they said they won't remove it from the device management pool until it is out of their warranty period which evidently is still a year or so.

My question is, if I were to be able to install from USB instead of from the internet, would it allow me to bypass the device management, or will it still prompt once I've got everything installed and connected?

If I CAN install from USB, how would I go about getting a Ventura install image without another Mac to download from? I currently only have Windows systems otherwise.

Essentially I am trying to see if it is possible to use it without the device management stuff, because if not I am just going to return it to our surplus.

Thanks!
