Monarch (Trust fund baby on steroids) doesn't give a shit about common people, what a surprise.

Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF 10/19
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

"Man who hacked a journalist to pieces with 0 consequences isn't bothered by genocide."
Most Arab leaders
Frankly this is all of them.
They only care about Palestine insofar as it furthers their own political goals. Its low hanging fruit for them to stroke the religious and nationalistic fires in their people and redirect their attention away from issues like the economy and civil rights.
Maybe it's more reasonable and far less racist to blame the people actually doing the genocide rather than to blame "all of them" or "they".
When did they claim that Israel wasn't to blame? Two things can be true at the same time.
I mean he's not saying anything wrong. These are US-bought governments and the US is getting their money's worth.
Might as well be Most Islamic Countries tbh.
Pakistan and Bangladesh buy spyware from Israel.
Turkey and Azerbaijan buy a lot of their arms.
Middle East in general is just screwed because it's mostly US shills.
Dunno enough about Southeast Asia or Africa, but I wouldn't be surprised if they too had ties to Israel.
I still like to think the only nation that made a proper stand was Yemen. Iran was kind of incompetent and is morally corrupt anyways. Lebanon is too fractured to have a chance of a proper leadership imo.
Only the Houthis seemed to make a dent in Israel by attacking their supply line, which did actually have an effect.
Otherwise there are plenty more non Islamic nations willing to do more.
Iran was kind of incompetent and is morally corrupt anyways.
I mean Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis are all basically dependent on Iran. They are Iran's stand.
Religion is poison
Uh... No? US influence is poison.
Well, duh, he's a psychopath. Why is anyone surprised by this?
What a fuckwit. Straight up admits he’s only going with it for the sake of image and doesn’t care about actually making sure this doesn’t happen again soon.
Yes isn't it obnoxious when leaders listen to their people despite their personal feelings?
It's pretty well known this guy only cares about how many commas are in his net worth. He's not a moral or good person by any stretch of the imagination.
So do most people, at least speaking for Americans. Ignoring all other context, at least this guy gives a miniscule shit about what his people think/want. That's just like basic politics
I do have to wonder if he thinks he's in more danger of losing it all than other contemporary government leaders
Ita depressing when a Saudi prince cares more about the will of the people (at least in writing) than almost any US politician.
Eh they know they live in a very precarious perch with a population that young and disenfranchised. It's classic authoritarian tactics to make a token nod to the masses every now and again
Saudi clown prince.
This particular Muhammad belongs in the bin. Preferably a small one that's ablaze.
LuL
How far they have fallen. In the 1970s King Faisal was spearheading OPECs embargo over Israel's unjust invasions and attacks during the 6 days war, and now to see his successors spitting on the Palestinians is just disgusting.
The successors of King Faisal are the same people who murdered King Faisal for having decent politics.
Yes you are right
Of course he doesn't. By the way America is still sending weapons to these guys (who blew up the trade center) while moralizing about sending weapons to Israel
Just keep in mind, this is anonymous hearsay by someone on Blinken’s team.
And even if it’s true, they wouldn’t have leaked it to the media without some kind of agenda.
the previous call from Saudi Arabia for Israel to de-escalate the war seems to have been a PR stunt now
Words are cheap, and they've got fuck-you money.
I mean his position is basically the same. He was asked "are you okay with X" and he said "no I'm not".
Someone is on fat losing drugs. Not halal
At least he's more honest than the vast majority of people engaged with this issue.
All else aside, if our leaders were more like the crown prince, we wouldn't be sending more bombs to the bombers.
"I don't care personally, but my people do, so I'm doing what they ask." Meanwhile, national polling suggests a majority of Americans want to stop arming Israel while they're committing war crimes, but the overwhelming majority of our political leaders give full-throated support.
And America is, ostensibly, the democracy.
Saudi's nonexistent democracy afraid of civilians using their nonexistent second amendement rights.
